Welcome to the Network Team's IPv6 Pages

The University of Leeds is in the process of provisioning IPv6 on its campus networks.

Work started in early 2006 with the establishment of an IPv6 test bed. The test bed was used by the Network Development Team to gain familiarity with IPv6 technology and to test IPv6 both equipment and deployment options.

In the late summer of 2006 the Network Development team published 2 documents IPv6 Addressing Policy and Recommendations for Deployment of IPv6 at University of Leeds. These documents form the basis of the IPv6 deployment at Leeds.

For more information on the deployment of IPv6 at Leeds University, go to the IPv6 Deployment web page.

In addition, a slide presentation - Introduction to IPv6 technology - was developed and presented to IT staff within the University, in order to raise awareness and understanding. This has also been presented to other organisations, including the West Yorkshire Linux User Group and Manchester Linux User Group.
